Prannoy Roy: Television Is His Life and Career

Prannoy Lal Roy considers television as both his career and life – and it shows in his accomplishments in the industry. He is, after all, the co-founder and executive co-chairperson along with Radhika Roy, his wife, of New Delhi Television (NDTV) as well as a well-respected journalist and media personality in India.

Prannoy has a brilliant mind, too. After his graduation from The Doon School, he was awarded a scholarship to the Haileybury and Imperial Service College in the United Kingdom. He is also a British Chartered Accountant, a holder of a master’s degree in economics, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

He has also been recognized for his work as an author, economist, and analyst with focus on elections in his home country. He was the lead anchor for Doordarshan, Indian’s national television network, for budget and election specials as well as an analyst for BBC World News' Question Time India.
