Lloyd Schwed holds responsibilities with the Florida law firm
Schwed, Kahle & Jenks, P.A. as Managing Partner. With four offices
statewide, the practice represents clients from Pensacola to Key West in
diverse litigation cases related to business, securities, and commercial
matters. Mr. Schwed and his colleagues have particular knowledge and experience
in handing complex general insurance and personal injury cases. They work
closely with a number of respected insurance firms as approved defense counsel.
Mr. Schwed began his career in 1985 as a business and commercial
litigation-focused attorney with Miami’s Fowler White. Earning shareholder
status within six years, Lloyd Schwed’s defense and appellate work notably
encompassed complex life and disability claims, securities arbitration and
litigation, and non-compete and contracts disputes,.
Well published in his field, Lloyd Schwed has coauthored the
Journal of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers article “A Case
Study for the Drafting of Comprehensible Jury Instructions. He has also
authored a number of Gannett News Service articles, including “How to Resolve a
Dispute with a Stockbroker.” Mr. Schwed has experience as a University of Miami
School of Law Adjunct Professor and has presented at a number of law
professional-attended seminars.
Earning his Bachelor’s degree at Loyola University in New
Orleans, Lloyd Schwed completed his Juris Doctor at the Washington University
School of Law in St. Louis. During this time, he served as Student Law Clerk to
The Honorable James Foreman, U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern
District of Illinois. Lloyd Schwed gained Florida Bar admission in 1985 and
holds admission to several Florida District Courts and the U.S. Court of
Appeals For the Eleventh Circuit.
